Lifecasting is the broadcast of a person's day-to-day life, generally through the Web; reversing the concept of surveillance. It captures the mondane to the highly unique and specialized, and was originally pioneered by individuals, but was developed extensively by a few early television shows in the U.S. and Britian. Generally, there is some verbal narration of the activity, and sometimes chat or even video interaction with viewers.
Big Brother was one of the most viewed lifecasts, and it became a long running show on CBS television network. Sarah Austin and Justin Kan were some of the first individual lifecasters to develop their own long term sponsors.
