Pay Per View Streaming to iPhones

iPhone video on demand pay per view subscription

MultiMediaCart is the best solution for delivering streaming video or audio to the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, because we support the industry's only scriptable video player for iPhone-type products. The server-based player is a non-Flash component which permits iPhone family of products to play streaming videos directly on their client-based QuickTime.

MultiMediaCart is the only on-demand solution with support for a server-based player for the iPhone; capable of more security than is currently available from Apple or other vendors.

MultiMediaCart is designed to work with all Web servers, media servers, application and game servers, supporting all video and audio formats. There are no restrictions on where the media is actually are located.  But it is especially effective and secure when deployed with the Wowza Media Server. The Wowza Media Server, in our opinion, is by far the most flexible and cost effective media server solution because the Wowza Media Server 2 can streaming to all devices, including iPhone, Silverlight, Android, Flash and Quicktime.

iPhone Streaming Media Basics

iPhones play videos are delivered with HTTP Live Streaming. HTTP Live Streaming allows publishers to stream audio and video over HTTP from an ordinary web server for playback on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and desktop computers. At the time of this article, Apple doesn't really offer a server solution for efficient video delivery to the iPhone family of products.

But Wowza Media Server is the most cost effective multi-video format server in the industry, and it allows publishers who stream Flash and Windows, to also stream to iPhone devices, with the ability to exploit user-developed player tokens and Wowza's Secure Token technology.

Just like rtmp - HTTP Live Streaming supports both live broadcasts and prerecorded content (video on demand). HTTP Live Streaming supports multiple alternate streams at different bit rates, and the client software can switch streams intelligently as network bandwidth changes. HTTP Live Streaming also provides for media encryption and user authentication over HTTPS, allowing publishers to protect their work. Streaming live events without special server software; providing video on demand with encryption and authentication. All devices running iOS 3.0 and later include built-in player client software.
